We won the prestigious Betongtavlen 2019 award! We are thrilled to announce that TEGLEN, Spikkestad Church and Cultural Center, has received this year’s most coveted prize, the Betongtavlen 2019 award!

Here are some words from the jury’s reasoning:

“TEGLEN church and cultural center emerges as a bold architectural achievement. It is clearly inspired by the finest functionalist church buildings, while also carrying forward traditions. The building accommodates the diverse user groups with surroundings that provide dignified and practical settings for cultural and religious activities.”

 The constructive function of concrete is clearly evident in the building, and the massive elements are showcased. The craftsmanship is solidly executed both in the structural elements and in the decorative use of concrete. The architects’ use of concrete in combination with brick demonstrates a deep understanding of the materials’ possibilities and strengths.

The building exhibits high architectural quality and is a worthy winner of the Betongtavlen award.”
