Winner of Competition for New Sustainable District in Sarpsborg

Our competition proposal for the development of the exciting Kalnesparken has recently been selected as the winner in a planning and design competition for Colligo AS. Over two phases, Hille Melbye architects have developed a solution focused on creating a vibrant district with urban qualities; featuring various types of housing, commercial spaces, parks, urban outdoor areas, and inclusive meeting places. Kalnesparken is being developed to become an independent and sustainable district, a place where people want to live, work, and visit – to live. Furthermore, we are working, among other things, on developing the project with timber constructions, which could give the project a strengthened aesthetic dimension.

“This will be very exciting to continue working on!” says architect and project manager Alf Felberg. “We have had a well-composed team that has identified opportunities and challenges in the area, resulting in good and feasible planning strategies for the site. Now we will further develop the project, alongside a good planning process with Sarpsborg Municipality,” adds regulatory architect Kristin Sande.

Hille Melbye architects thank Colligo AS for their trust and look forward to the further development of this exciting project.
