Hille Melbye Arkitekter, together with Edit Landskap, has been prequalified for the parallel commission to develop GARD’s new headquarters in Arendal. The work is now in full swing.
GARD is a leading global insurance company with its headquarters in the idyllic Varmekrogen in Arendal. They announced the headquarters project through the Norwegian Association of Architects after identifying the need to expand and modernize their workplace.
A total of 39 applicants competed for this prestigious project, and Hille Melbye was selected as one of three teams to compete for the final commission. The primary task of the project is to explore how the need for additional workspaces and a modern work culture can be developed in harmony with the site and local community, connecting several buildings via a new meeting place.
“GARD is an exciting company with great ambitions. We see this as a unique opportunity to create a forward-thinking workplace for them, balancing the community’s charm and values with sustainable and modern solutions,” says Joachim Midjo Andersen, architect at Hille Melbye Arkitekter.
