Eidsvoll needs more housing and central development. The purpose of the plan is to establish a new urban block that will help promote city life and activity in the town center. The plan facilitates new central buildings in Sundet, introducing both housing and workplaces.

The new block will be adapted to the existing terrain, landscape, street structure, sightlines, and block sizes, while ensuring good connections and public gathering spaces throughout the area. The buildings will have an urban design and be adapted to the surrounding heritage structures. The plan allows for a new landmark building of up to 12 stories, which will be visible from across the Vorma River and the main arterial road into Sundet. This building will serve as a new reference point, marking Eidsvoll’s town center.

The plan ensures that the town center gains more housing and an increased population, providing a foundation for greater activity and a more sustainable urban core. The housing will feature high-quality architecture, good living conditions with shared outdoor spaces at ground level and on rooftops, as well as proximity to green common areas and playgrounds. The development includes provisions for local stormwater management, environmentally friendly energy solutions, green mobility, and the reduction of car traffic.
