The feasibility study for a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Grefsen Station Bridge was designed in collaboration with DOF Engineers for the Oslo Municipality. The pedestrian and bicycle bridge is proposed to ensure that the development of Grefsen Station City can proceed according to the zoning plan. The bridge structure is designed to be as lightweight and efficient as possible, while the railing serves as the main visual attraction. The railing undulates up and down along the bridge to accommodate the varying height requirements over the road, tram, and train tracks, as well as the green area.
The balusters have different angles in a pattern that allows for different views through the railing as one moves along the bridge. In some places, the angle is such that in the direction of travel, one does not see out, for example, where the view is only of the traffic road or residential buildings. In other places, such as near the Grefsen station building, the angle is adjusted to frame the best views.
